Hubble finds new super earth - alien life real possibility

The space telescope hubble found a new super earth with plenty of water!

The planet, called GJ 1214b, astronomers know for some time. It was 2009 during the "MEarth Project" found, looking at the sky with ground-based telescopes for research satellites of distant stars. Follow-up observations with the Hubble Space Telescope were now but a surprise to GJ 1214b is a new class of exoplanets. With a distance of only two million kilometers, it is very close to its star, a revolution takes just 38 hours. Because of its proximity to the sun's surface is very hot, the project researchers calculated a probable temperature of 230 degrees Celsius. By comparison, Mercury, the innermost planet of our system, orbits the sun at 58 million kilometers distance, it takes a complete orbit in 88 days.

As early as 2010, astronomers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA), which is based in Cambridge, MA, Massachusetts, analyzed the spectrum of light emitted by GJ 1214b. They found evidence that the envelope of air consists mainly of water. But even a fine mist that envelops the entire planet, the data could have explained.

  1. That`s great!! so maybe sooner or later we ll find new perfect planet..but moving is always a problem...
And even if we would like to live there...assuming such a possibility-the most difficult is to accept the new environment and it is not easy

  2. That would be great but I don not think so this new alien life would be so advanced as our..and this is so sad..

  3. U can not know this for sure..that we never had the visual evidence does not mean that all are in the phase of bacteria, and if w believe that in area 51 they have a reall one -that can be a proof :)

  4. I really believe in aliens...and sooner or later we will meet with them..
we can not be alone...it is impossible to be the only life form in space...
