Theia - The planet that created the Moon

Theia  - hypothetical planet , where the collision with the Earth , according to the giant impact theory , led to the formation of the moon .
According to this theory, Theia formed 4.6 billion years ago, like the other planets in our solar system , and was similar to Mars size.
The planet is named after Teyi ( Greek. Θεία ) - one of her sisters- she-titans in Greek mythology , the mother of Helios , Eos , and Selene (the goddess of the moon).

    1. The reason there is no impact on the Earth is for the reason when Theia collided with Earth was because Earth was a giant mass of molten rock. So when Theia hit us, it was like hitting a water balloon instead a ball of clay. Only this water ballon sucked in the heavy elements of Theia. Hope that helps! :')
