Washington Nationals 1952 - Real UFOs?

 

 

From 13 to 29 July 1952 there was a major wave of UFO sightings over Washington DC. There have been numerous reports on a daily basis to the authorities. This UFO wave - in the U.S. as "Washington Nationals"(also Washington flap or Washington National Airport Sightings) became famous - took place mainly over the Washington National Airport. The objects were detected both visually and by radar. After the Air Force had noinitial explanation, later specified as temperature inversions cause the radar observations and explains thevisual sightings of simple misinterpretations.
